when you ask for a sign…

be ready to accept it.

i have known for some time now that i do not belong in corporate america.

sure, it pays well.  sure, there are a lot of smart people.  sure, the stability helps my dad sleep at night… but it’s just not me.  i went to SOBcon in search of friends, education and inspiration.  i got it all… and then some.

there was a videoblog contest (sponsored by utterz.com) and i thought “go for it, jen”  i realized that i was much fresher on the blogging scene than many others but i listened to my instinct and entered anyway.

…and i won!

my video was a satire of my life in corporate america.  it is my way of saying that someday i will do what i was put on this earth to do…  perform.

…and the sooner the better.

so i have been pushing myself to see what i am made of… and capable of… and i look for signs of encouragement.

ask and ye shall receive.

here is the link to my video:  www.getmymessage.blogspot.com

(ps: thanks so much for voting for me, SOBconers!)

Jen- You did an awesome job at SOBCON. I am so impressed with the way you did the slides and your story was great. As a competitor in the competition I was happy to lose to such a great person. I look forward to keeping in touch. From one rookie blogger to another its great to see that your doing something you want to do!

Jen, I don’t even think corporate America pays all that well. :] You’re a born blogger, baby, and I’m so glad to know you!

It’s amazing what happens when you just trust yourself and forget about everything else, isn’t it?
